As part of enhancing the skills of teachers in the Classroom Online platforms, the school has been conducting series of trainings to keep the teachers abreast with the latest innovations in the online teaching platforms.
Last July 6, 2021, the Elementary Department had their equipping on Google Classroom and Google Meet. The Google Meet interface was introduced to the teachers and they were taught how to generate their meet link and modify the host controls.
Tips on how to navigate the Google Meet during online meeting were discussed such as sharing a screen, pinning a participant, and using Chrome Extension Dualles for dual monitor.
Last year, the Elementary teachers used CISCO Webex Meetings as their video conferencing tool. However with all the limitations they encountered such as the 40-minute meeting time limit which cuts the meeting off every 40 minutes, there is a necessity to use Google Meet instead.
With Google Meet, unlimited and seamless meetings can be conducted. Students will be able to enter the meeting by clicking the same link posted in their Google Classrooms throughout the year.
More faculty development seminars via zoom are in the offing. July 19 is set for the talk of Dr. Marylendra Penetrante. Doc Neth works for peace and security in her community by leading her team in delivering trainings and psychosocial services like counselling, therapy, coaching, psychological evaluation, and psycho-education interventions to help children, teens, and families- especially those who have experienced conflict and trauma.
Another resource speaker, Sir Bong Abela is set to talk with teachers and staff on July 21. Coach B as fondly called by many, specializes on life and organizational coaching and mentoring integrating a progressive and holistic approach.
The month of July kicks off with so many things happening in the school. July 26 will be the tentative opening of classes for this school year.
Meanwhile, enrolment is still ongoing. The school also post updates on its Facebook page Bacolod Trinity Christian School, Inc.
