The COVID pandemic did not hamper the celebration of the Buwan ng Wika as Trinitarians joined in the said event. Though done virtually, Trinitarians became very creative in their celebration of the event – thanks to the artistic and resourceful teachers of Trinity Christian School.

For the first time since the pandemic, Trinity Christian School launches virtual activities in celebration of the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa with the theme, “Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika sa Dekolonisasyon ng pag-iisip ng mga Pilipino”, last August 26-27, 2021.

All departments have their specific events spearheaded by their teachers and the level supervisors. The said celebration was attended by Trinitarians via Google Meet and Zoom.

With the goal to promote and persevere in using the native languages in our country, a line-up of activities has been firmed up to draw maximum virtual involvement from students and was spearheaded by Filipino subject teachers with the help of other subject teachers.

The elementary department’s activities were based on the task given by the subject teachers like flag making and poem making contest.

To get the feel of the event, all elementary teachers wore Filipino costumes to remind them of the significance of the affair.

For the Junior High School students, numerous participants from grade 7 to grade 12 took part in different events such as Poster Making, Pitikanin, OPM Vocal Solo, Quiz Bee, TV News Casting, and the much- awaited Banda rito-Banda roon, and Pop Dance competition which has been the main event during the first and second day of the celebration.

Day one of the event kicked off with the Quiz Bee competition, followed by the presentations of the Pitikanin and Poster Making entries, Vocal Solo, and Banda rito banda roon.

The final day of the celebration started with the presentation of Katutubong Kasuotan, Hugot Poetry, TV News Casting, and the highly anticipated Pinoy Pop Dance competition.

Smiles of excitement plastered in the faces of the students as they waved through the camera at the entirety of the two-day program.

The halls of the school were once more filled with the loud noise of enthusiasm as everyone cheered for their own batch representatives.

“By God’s grace we have overcome and we will overcome the challenges brought upon us by this pandemic. And yes there are still more to come! And I know Trinitarians will take on the challenge!” teacher Darleen Dechimo, Junior High School Coordinator, said as she closed the program.

“Ito ang pinakamasaya at pinaka memorable na programa ngayong pandemya”, one student shared after.

Indeed the event was fun and surely one that will remain in the hearts and minds of every Trinitarian.
