National Theme: Filipino at mga Katutubong Wika: Wika ng Kapayapaan, Seguridad at Inklusibong Pagpapatupad ng Katarungang Panlipunan
Our national language as Filipinos defines who we are as a race. It’s our distinct identification that sets us apart from any other race and culture. The month of August is dubbed as the National Language month. We have every reason to celebrate this occasion as it helps us to remember our roots, to celebrate our unique identity and to remind us to be thankful that we are Filipinos.
Trinitarians love to celebrate the Buwan ng Wika as a way of showcasing their talents and creativity in many ways. It also unleashes the child within them as they enjoy the different games prepared by their teachers.
The preschool and elementary departments have a good time with their literary and ground activities. Their activities resumed this 1st week of September due to the onslaught of Bagyo Goring during the last week of August.
The parents of the preschoolers joined their kids on stage as they showcased their groovy dance moves while other kids were just so excited to sing their hearts out.
Meanwhile the elementary pupils also prepared some heartwarming song and dance numbers while their parents were on the sidelines cheering for them. They also had fun with their field games.
The High School Department started their celebration with a small parade around the school grounds dressed in their traditional and modern Filipino costumes.
As the years go by, the activities have become more creative. The teachers put in modern twists to the traditional games. It brings a lot of laughter, fun and camaraderie among the participants. Even the stage presentations are getting better and challenging every year.
We enjoy our national language because it brings us together as one. And for this, we should have every reason to know by heart our own literature and culture and to honor our heritage.
The Buwan ng Wika celebration also reminds us to honor our ancestors – our heroes who fought hard for our freedom and independence. They raged wars against the foreign oppressors for us to enjoy what we are today as a free country.
