The campus of Bacolod Trinity Christian School came alive with color, music, laughter, and Filipino pride during its Buwan ng Lahi celebration in the last week of August 2026.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon,” the celebration brought together Trinitarians from the Preschool, Elementary, and High School Departments in a vibrant week of activities that honored the richness of the Filipino language, culture, and traditions while embracing the possibilities of modern technology.
From traditional games to lively performances, every corner of the campus became a space for learning, creativity, and cultural appreciation.
A Celebration of Filipino Heritage
One of the highlights of the festivities was the Laro ng Lahi, where students enjoyed traditional Filipino games that brought out their energy, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Beyond the excitement, these games provided a meaningful connection to the recreational traditions enjoyed by generations of Filipino children.
The celebration also showcased the country’s diverse cultural heritage through cultural dance presentations. Students took the stage with colorful costumes, graceful movements, and enthusiastic performances, giving everyone a glimpse of the beauty and diversity of Filipino traditions.
Adding even more color to the celebration was the Parade of National Costumes, where students proudly displayed Filipino-inspired attire. The parade transformed the campus into a moving showcase of culture and creativity, reminding everyone of the many traditions that make the Filipino identity unique.
Music, Talent, and Trinitarian Spirit
The festivities were filled with music as well. Students demonstrated their talents through vocal duets, solo performances, and other musical presentations, filling the campus with melodies and enthusiastic applause.
The much-anticipated “Banda Rito, Banda Doon” added another lively dimension to the celebration, bringing together the joy of music and the energetic spirit of the Trinitarian community.
With every performance, students had an opportunity not only to showcase their abilities but also to express their appreciation for Filipino language and culture.
A Feast of Filipino Flavors
No Filipino celebration would be complete without food—and Buwan ng Lahi at Bacolod Trinity Christian School was certainly no exception!
Filipino delicacies were in abundance throughout the festivities, giving students and members of the school community a chance to enjoy familiar flavors while appreciating the culinary traditions passed down through generations. The array of Filipino food added warmth and flavor to an already memorable celebration.
Filipino Heritage in a Changing World
This year’s theme also highlighted the relationship between the Filipino language and artificial intelligence (AI). In a world where information is increasingly shaped by digital technology, the celebration emphasized the continuing importance of Filipino as a means of communication, learning, research, and cultural expression.
The theme served as a reminder that embracing new technologies does not mean leaving traditions behind. Instead, technology can become a tool for discovering, preserving, sharing, and enriching the vast cultural knowledge found within the Filipino community.
Celebrating What Makes Us Filipino
More than a week of games, performances, costumes, music, and food, Buwan ng Lahi 2026 was a celebration of identity. It gave Trinitarians an opportunity to appreciate the language they speak, the traditions they inherit, the talents they share, and the culture that connects them.
With the Preschool, Elementary, and High School Departments participating wholeheartedly, the campus became a joyful meeting place of generations, traditions, and ideas.
As the festivities came to a close, the spirit of Buwan ng Lahi remained alive in the hearts of the Trinitarian community—a reminder that Filipino culture is not only something to remember, but something to celebrate, preserve, and carry proudly into the future.
